You are in good company. No less an intellect than Nietzsche was a strong supporter of the power and value of aphorisms (memes) in communicating ideas. This form aligns with his belief in economy of language and the idea that truth is better expressed in sharp, striking formulations rather than in elaborate treatises.

Special shout-out to myself, trying to make translated Italian aphorisms happen: 'I fell like a cooked pear' 'They don't have enough salt in their pumpkin' 'Wolves' weather' 'I gave him bread for focaccia'.

Interestingly there is a Tamil aphorism that's very similar: The Bottlegourd curry doesn't have enough salt.
